You may have noticed that I have not posted since the start of December. This is because I am very busy at the moment, designing and launching my own website! My Amaroo is going it’s own way, on it’s own domain name and with a brand new lay-out! I am so excited, and I hope that I can finish everything on time. So from the 1ths of January, you can go to annamaroo.com!
Happy saturday! Finally some time to do what I love to do, write about inspirational things, persons and fashion! Today I want to give a homage to one of my favorite books; How to walk in high heels, written by Camilla Morton.
Hi there! Today I wanted to share with you some inspirational photo’s, to get you to start wearing orchid. This great color, which happens to be one of the trending fall 2014 colors, you can read the article about those here, is definitely a color which makes your look sparkle. I am a huge fan of color theory, and I am always trying to figuring out which colors suit me best, and for which occasion or mood. I think this radiant orchid is a unique color, not many women wear it. That is why I want to encourage myself, and you today, to step out of your comfort zone and start wearing orchid! You can use orchid in big blocks, like a winter coat, or as a little dash using the color in your accessories.
Hi hi! A couple of weeks ago, I decided I wanted to make a business appropriate blouse. I still had this grey-white stripped fabric laying around, which I had not found a destination for yet. Combined with a beautiful white stretch cotton for the sleeves, I thought the two fabrics could be a winning team. And boy, do I love my new blouse! I paired it with my new bag from Invito, and hopped right into a meeting!
Hi there! Today, I wanted to post an article about a fashionable set of sisters, who have inspired me since I was little. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Former child/teen movie stars, and nowadays designers of the huge successful fashion brand The Row. These sisters have a great eye for fashion and upcoming trends. Outfits I saw them wearing a couple of years ago, which were not understandable at the time, are now very on trend. So I’m keeping an eye on these twins!
Happy Sunday! At this moment I am having a cosy, lazy evening with Britt. Watching silly movies, and eating too much cookies. Oh oh! But hey, don’t they say Mondays are for eating healthy and going to the gym? A couple of days ago, when it was sunny, I walked around the city in my new skirt. When I found this fabric, a very stretchy black fake leather, I immediately thought of making a simple skirt! I paired it with a bright orange crop top, and my new soft pink ankle boots.
A couple of weeks ago, I went to the movies with my mother. She wanted to see the new Woody Allen movie, Magic in the Moonlight. And wow, didn’t that movie blow away my mind!
The movie is set in the 1920’s, in the south of France. Colin Firth, who plays Stanley, is a famous illusionist who is hired to investigate a paranormal gifted girl called Sophie, played by Emma Stone. I do not want to give away the plot, because I absolutely think you should see this movie for yourself! And no, it is not a scary movie about paranormal activity, it is a romantic comedy filled with the most beautiful locations, clothing and landscapes. I love, love the sweet pastel colored dresses, the retro bathing suits and the gorgeous gardens where they shoot some of the scenes. I also adore the way Woody Allen shot the movie, it has a very slow and relaxed pace, but it is still interesting. The chemistry between Stone and Firth is very exciting! The movie pretty much represents the pace of the southern of France. Now the days are getting shorter and colder, I can dream away when I look at these pictures from the movie! Oh, take me back to those summer days.
On this beatiful Sunday, I wanted to share with you some inspirational photographs! A beautiful Vogue editorial published in the 1994 December Issue of Vogue US. The editorial features Claudia Schiffer in a shoot around Rome, inspired by the famous movie Roman Holiday starring Audrey Hepburn.
